This year everything is different – even in Omaha. Because the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting 2020 (via the link you get all important information) will take place without spectators this time. Corona simply won’t let it be any different. Warren Buffett will continue to answer shareholders’ questions, but this time without his brilliant partner Charlie Munger.

Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting
2020 we won’t see Charlie and Warren together on stage

This year, Greg Abel, Vice Chairman-Non-Insurance Operations at Berkshire Hathaway, joins Warren Buffett. During the AGM, which will be streamed live by Yahoo Finance, journalist Becky Quick will ask Warren Buffett and Greg Abel the best shareholder questions.

That is of course better than nothing, but also a great pity. The Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting in Omaha is a special event. We very much hope that in 2021 or 2022 at the latest there will be another chance to see Warren and Charlie together on stage. What makes the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting a special event, we try to explain you in this blogpost:

In addition to questions from shareholders, there are also a number of selected journalists and analysts who can ask them questions. One of them is Greggory Warren from Morningstar. We were able to conduct an exclusive interview with him in November 2019. There he explained to us how he came to this honor and how to ask questions to Warren and Charlie so that they don’t avoid the answer. We also talked about the culture at Berkshire Hathaway:

The exhibition at the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting: “A Festival of Capitalism

In addition to the large hall where Charlie and Warren answer questions, there is also an exhibition on the fringes of the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting that attracts many shareholders. There, the companies under the Berkshire Hathaway holding will present themselves. It is a “small celebration of capitalism” where shareholders can find out more about their companies and also shop cheaply. Many companies offer a shareholder discount. You can find out what the atmosphere at this “festival” is like here:
